[x-3]1=[y-k]2=z1......(2)

Let the equation [x-1]2=[y+1]3=[z-1]4=r

⇒x=2r+1,y=3r-1,z=4r+1

Putting the above value in the (2) equation

2r+1-31=3r-1-k2=4r+11

Taking the first and the last together

2r+1-31=4r+11⇒2r=-3⇒r=-32

Taking the second and the last together

=3r-1-k2=4r+11⇒k=-5×-32-3⇒k=92

On solving the above equation

⇒r=-32

⇒k=92
