Explain mechanism of sex determination in birds.

In most of the birds (like Hen), the ZZ/ZW type of sex determination mechanism is seen. In this case, female heterogamety is seen i.e. the female produces two different types of sex gametes. The female produces ( autosomes + Z & W ) chromosomes, while the male produces ( autosomes + two Z ) chromosomes.
