Solution

Given that,

Mass m1=4kg

Mass m2=2kg

Now, the net force is

F=m1gm2g

F=4g2g

F=2g

F=2×10

F=20N

Now, the acceleration is

F=ma

a=Fm1+m2

a=206

a=103m/s2

Now, the distance travelled in 9 sec

s=ut+12at2

s=12×103×81

s=135m

Now, speed of center of mass after 9 s

v=u+at

v=103×9

v=30m/s

Hence, the distance is 135 m and speed is 30 m/s
