Two methods to find wind direction

The following are the two methods to find out the direction of wind.
(i) Take a piece of paper and tear it into small pieces(fine sand can also be used). Slowly release the pieces of paper. The direction in which the paper falls is the direction of blowing of wind.
(ii) Take an air balloon and release it in open space.The balloon will start moving in one direction which will give you the idea about the direction of wind.
