According to the given conditions
$2x+y=35$ ______(i)
$3x+4y=65$ _____(ii)

Multiplying equation (i) by 4,
$\Rightarrow 8x+4y=140$ _____(iii)

Subtracting (ii) from (iii), we get
$\Rightarrow 5x=75$
$\Rightarrow x=15$

Substituting the value of $x=15$ in equation (i)
$\Rightarrow 2\times 15+y=35$
$\Rightarrow 30+y=35$
$\Rightarrow y=5$
