Two numbers are in ratio 5:6. Sum of both the numbers is 220. What is the difference between the numbers.

Sum of numbers = 220

Ratio of two numbers = 5:6
The total number of equal parts = 5 + 6 = 11

We will divide 220 by 11 to find the value of each equal part.
Value of each equal part = 220 ÷ 11
= 20

Smaller number = 5 × 20 = 100
Larger number = 6 × 20 = 120

Difference between the numbers = 120 - 100
= 20
