Two numbers are in ratio of 5:3.if they differ by 18,what are the numbers?

As the ratio of two numbers = 5 : 3

So, let one number be 5x and other number be 3x

By question,
5x - 3x = 18

or 2x =18

or x = 18/2 = 9

Hence one number = 5x = 5*9 = 45

other number = 3x = 3*9 = 27

Ans. two number are 45 and 27.
