Let the numbers be 2x,3x.

Subtract 2 from the first number 2x2
Subtract 8 from the second number 3x8

Given, the new ratio is the reciprocal of 2:3.
2x2:3x8=3:2
2x23x8=32
2(2x2)=3(3x8)
4x4=9x24
244=9x4x
20=5x
x=205
x=4

2x=2×4=8,3x=3×4=12
Hence, the numbers are 8 and 12.
