Two numbers are in the ratio 3:5. If 8 is added to each number, the ratio becomes 2:3. Find the numbers.

The ratio between the number is 3:5.

If one of the number is 3x, then the other number is 5x.

Given : $\frac{3x+8}{5x+8}=\frac{2}{3}$

$\Rightarrow 10x+16=9x+24$

$\Rightarrow x=8$

$\therefore$ Numbers are 3x and 5x = 3 $\times$ 8 and 5 $\times$ 8 = 24 and 40
