Let the numbers be x and y

xy=35 ...(1)

According to the question,

x9y9=1223 ...(2)

x=3y5

3y59y9=1223

3y455y45=1223

23(3y45)=12(5y45)

69y1035=60y540

9y=1035540=495

y=55

From (1)

x55=35

Thus the smaller number is 33
