The correct option is A 20 cm

Given,

The size of the image of object A and B is the same, hence

hA=hB

The size of object A is four times that of B, hence

hA=4hB

Now the magnification of object A can be given as

mA=hAhA …… (1)

Similarly for object B

mB= hBhB ……. (2)

From equation (1) and (2) the ratio of magnification is given as

mAmB=hAhA × hBhBmAmB=hA4hB × hBhA

mAmB=14 ……. (3)

Now the magnification formula is given as

m=ffu

Therefore equation (3) becomes

mAmB=fuBfuA14=10uB10+50

uB=404+10uB=20cm

Hence the object B is placed at 20cm from the mirror.
