Let P(x1,y1) be point of contact of two parabola. tangents at P of the two parabolas are
yy1=2a(x+x1)4al1 and
xx1=2a(x+y1)4al2
2axyy1=2a(2l1x1) ......(i)
and xx12ay=2a(y12l2) .....(ii)
Clearly (i) and (ii) represent same line
2ax1=y12ax1y1=4a2
Hence locus of P is xy=4a2
