Let us draw →VAB, →VAB=→VA=→VB=→VA+(−→VB)
We get tan θ=1020=12; again tan θ=ADCD=AD40=12
⇒ AD=20⇒DO=10 and BC = 10
Hence shortest distance between the particle dshort=BC cos θ=10 cos θ=10×2√5=4√5m
Since closest distance is non zero therefore they will not collide
