Let d be the diameter

Distance travelled by particle 1, OA=dcosα
Acceleration of particle 1, aOA=gcosα
Along OA, velocity of particle 1 using 3rd equation of motion,
v21=2(gcosα).(dcosα)(1)
Similarly for particle B,
v22=2gd(2)
Dividing equation (1) and (2), we get
v1v2=cosα
