Question

Two particles are projected from the ground simultaneously with speeds of 20 m/s at angles of 30 and 60 respectively with the horizontal in the same direction. The distance between them when both of them strike the ground is (g = 10 m/s2)

Solution

As we know,
The horizontal range for two projectiles, projected with the same initial speed at complementary angles, is equal.

In our case, we have two given complementary angles as 30and 60.
So the range will be the same in both cases.

Therefore, the distance between them when both of them strike the ground is 0 m.

Hence, option (d) is correct.
