Let u1 and u2 be the initial velocities of the two particles and θ1 and θ2 be their angles of projection with the horizontal.
The velocities of the two particles after time t are,
v1= (u1cosθ1)^i +(u1sinθ1-gt)^j

v2= (u2cosθ2)^i + (u2sinθ2-gt)^j

v12= v1 -v2= (u1cosθu2cosθ2)^i +(u1sinθ1-gt - u2sinθ2+ gt)^j

v12= v1 -v2= (u1cosθu2cosθ2)^i +(u1sinθ1 - u2sinθ2)^j

which is a constant. So the path followed by one, as seen by the other is straight line, making a constant angle with the horizontal.
