The distance that they cover before they walk in step again will be the LCM of $64$ and $84$ .
$64 = 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2$
$84 = 2 \times 2 \times 3 \times 7$
$L C M = 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 2 \times 3 \times 7 = 1344$
