Question

Two plane mirror A and B are inclined at angle θ(<90o) to each other. A light ray parallel to mirror B is incident on mirror A and it becomes parallel to mirror A after reflection from mirror B. Find the value of angle θ.

Solution

Let θ be the angle between mirrors OM1 and OM2
The incident light is reflected along BC.
Angle of reflection is α.
From the figure we have,
M1BA=OBC=M1OM2=θ
Similiarly, M2CD=BCO=M2OM1=θ
Now in triangle OBC, 3θ=180
θ=60
