Effective throat thickness
(tt)=(0.7×S)=(0.7×8)=5.6 mm

Strength of weld per mm length

=(4103)5.61.5
=883.73 N/mm

Length of weld required to transmit 350 kN load
2L+100=350×103883.73
2L+100=396
