Question

Two players X and O play a game of "noughts and crosses" on a 3×3 grid. The purpose of the game is for a player to get 3 symbols belonging to the player in a straight line (vertically, horizontally or diagonally). Each player marks one each), the grid looks as follows with X to play the next symbol on his or her turn. After two moves (I turn each), the grid looks as follows with X to play next.
Where should X put his symbol next, so that he will always win this game finally regardless of how well O plays?

Solution

The correct option is A Bottom row right corner
X will win, if he enters in bottom right cell.
Hence, option 'A' is correct.

If X is entered in the bottom right cell, O will enter in bottom mid cell, to save the game.
Then if X enters, in Top Left cell, O will not be able to prevent his defeat, since, X would have two straight paths: left column or bottom row.
