Two plots of land have the same perimeter. One is a square of side 40cm,while the other is a rectangle of breadth 25 m.Which plot is larger and by how much?

Perimeter of a square = 4 $\times$ length of each side = 4 $\times$ 40 = 160 cm.
Perimeter of a reactangle = 2 ( l + b) = 2 ( l + 25) = 160
$\to$ 2l + 50 = 160
$\to$ 2l = 110 or l = 55 cm.
Area of square = ${40}^2$ = 1600 sq cm
Area of reactangle = l $\times$ b = 55 $\times$ 25 = 1375 sq cm.
Hence, Square plot is a larger one and it is 225 sq cm larger.
