Given:
The ratio of the lengths of the two cardboard pieces = 1:3
So, if the lengths of the two pieces are l1 and l2, then l1=l and l2=3l.
Similarly, if the breadths of the two pieces are b1 and b2, then b1=2b and b2=7b.
Area of a rectangle = length × breadth
The ratio of the areas of the two pieces is A1A2=l1×b1l2×b2
