Two sides of a parallelogram are 20 cm and 25 cm. If the altitude corresponding to the sides of length 25 cm is 10 cm. Find the altitude corresponding to the other pair of sides.

Solution

We are given, that two sides of a parallelogram are 20 cm and 25 cm
Now,
Area of parallelogram = height (or Altitude) × base
here, Base QR is having altitude PT & Base SR is having altitude QU.
So, QR×PT=SR×QU
25×10=20×QU
Now, QU=x so,
x=25×1020=12.5cm
So, the altitude corresponding to the other pair of sides is 12.5cm
