Question

Two sides of a parallelogram are in the ratio 5:4 if the perimeter is 72cm find the length of its sides

Open in App
Solution

Ratio of sides of parellelogram = 5:4

So the two sides be 5x and 4x respectively.

perimeter of parallelogram=2(side 1+side 2)

72=2(5x+4x)

72 = 2 (9x)

72= 18x. .

x=72/18 = 4

x=4

therefore,
our sides are
5x = 5×4= 20
4x =4×4= 16

20 and 16 are the length of sides of parellelogram
