Two sides of a triangle are 6 cm and 8 cm. If height of the triangle corresponding to 6 cm side is 4 cm; find:

(i) are of the triangle

(ii) height of the triangle corresponding to 8 cm side.

BC =6cm

height AD =4 cm

area of $\Delta =\frac{1}{2}$ base $\times$ height

$=\frac{1}{2}\times BC\times AD$

$=\frac{1}{2}\times 6\times 4=12c{m}^2$

Again area of $\Delta =\frac{1}{2}AC\times BE$

$12=\frac{1}{2}\times 8\times BE$

$\therefore BE=\frac{12\times 2}{8}$

BE =3 cm

$\therefore$ (i)12 cm^2 (ii)3 cm
