Question

Two sides of a triangle are 6 cm and 8 cm. If height of the triangle corresponding to 6 cm side is 4 cm, find height of triangle corresponding to 8 cm side.

Solution

Area of triangle =12×base×height
For base 6cm, height =4cm.

So, area =12×6×4=12cm2
Let the height for base 8cm, be h.
Area of the triangle will be the same considering any side of the base and its corresponding height.
Hence, area =12×8×h=12cm2h=3cm
