Solution
The correct option is D4
We know that: n1=n(v−v0v)
n2=n(v+v0v)
Given, actual frequency of the sirens, n=330Hz
velocity of the observer v0=2m/s
velocity of sound v=330m/s
Beat frequency = ?
Let consider observer is moving away from siren 1 and towards siren 2.
Hearing frequency of sound emitted by siren 1, n1=n(v−v0v)
n1=330Hz×(330−2330)
n1=328Hz…(i)
Now, Hearing frequency of sound emitted by siren 2, n2=n(v+v0v)
n2=330Hz×(330+2330)
n2=332Hz…(ii)
Now,
Beat frequency =n2−n1
Beat frequency =332−328
Beat frequency =4Hz
