The first minimum occurs at a point P where the path difference is λ2.

Here, S1P=D and S2P=D2+d2

D2+d2D=λ2

D2+d2=(D+λ2)2

D2+d2=D2+Dλ+λ24

D=d2λλ4

Here, λ=600 nm=600×109 m

d=102 cm=104 m

D=(104)2600×109600×1094

or, D1.7 cm

Hence, option (D) is correct.
