Statement 1
Rajeev's salary = 4000 and
Let Atul's salary = A
A = [ (A+4000) / 2 ] + 500
A - ( A+4000 )/2 = 500
A= 2500×2 = 5000

Statement 2
(4000+A)/2= 4500
2000 + A/2= 4500
A = 2500×2 = 5000
Hence data in statement 1 alone and statement 2 alone are sufficient to answer the question
