Two student performed the same experiment separately and each one of them recorded two readings of mass which are given below. Correct reading of mass is 3.0 g. One the basis of given data, mark the correct option out of the following statement.

The correct option is B Results of students A are both precise and accurate.
Students A:
Average reading =3.01+2.992=3.0g
Student B: Average reading =3.05+2.952=3.0g
For both the students A and B, average reading is close to the correct reading (i.e.,3.0g). Hence, both recorded by student A are more precise as they differ only by ±0.01, whereas readings recorded by the student B are differ by ±0.05. Thus, the results of student A are both precise and accurate.

Precision refers to the closeness of various measurements for the same quantity and accuracy is the agreement of a perticular value to the true value of the results. Results of student A are very close to 3g.
