Solution

The correct option is A $66.66
The rate (Ry) for a worker from the yellow team =$100

Let the rate (Rr) for a worker from the red team =$x

Let the work they do =W

Two yellow team workers and one red team worker finish the work in 14 days.
2Ry+Rr=W14 ----equation (1)

Two yellow team workers and four red team workers finish the work in 8 days.
2Ry+4Rr=W8 ----equation (2)

Subtract equation 1 from equation 2.

2Ry+4Rr(2Ry+Rr)=W8W14

4RrRr=3W56

3Rr=3W56

Rr=W56

56Rr=W

Let's substitute the value of W and Ry in equation 1.

2×100+Rr=56Rr14

200+Rr=4Rr

200=3Rr

Rr=2003

Rr=$66.66

Hence, a worker from the red team worker will earn $66.66.
