Solution

The correct option is C 7.5 and 2.5

Given that,

Power of combination P=10D.....(I)

Distance between lenses d=20cm=0.2m

Now, power of combination

P=P1+P2d(P1+P2)

6.25=100.2(P1+P2)

0.2(P1+P2)=6.2510

(P1+P2)=3.750.2

P1+P2=18.75

Now,

(P1P2)2=(P1+P2)24P1.P2

(P1P2)2=10×104×18.75

(P1P2)2=25

(P1P2)=5D......(II)

Adding equation (I) and (2)

P1+P2=10

P1P2=5

Now,

2P1=15

P1=7.5D

Now, put the value of P1 in equation (I)

P2=107.5

P2=2.5D

Hence, the power of lenses P1=7.5D and P2=2.5D
