Bus (say B1) in the same direction relative speed of bus and cyclist,
vr=vbvc
Distance travelled by B1 relative of cyclist in 21 minutes=vr×21
Distance covered by bus in T minute =vbT
Then, 21vr=vbT
Bus in opposite direction (say B2)
Relative speed between B2 and cyclist,
vr=vb+vc
Distance travelled by B2 relative of cyclist in 7 minutes=vr×7
Then 7vr=vbT
from, (i) and (ii)
21vr=7vr or 3vr=vr or 3(vbvc)=vb+vc or vb=2vc=2×20=40kmh1
Thus T=7vrvb=7(vb+vc)vb=7(40+20)40=7×32=212=10.5minute
