380 km


Train A and Train B run in opposite directions.

So, we can see that the distance between them is the sum of the distance travelled by them in the given time.

Distance travelled by train A in 4 hrs = speed of train A × time taken

= 45 × 4= 180 km

Distance travelled by train B in 4 hrs= speed of train B × time taken

= 50 × 4= 200 km

Distance between both the trains = Distance travelled by A + Distance travelled by B

= 180 + 200= 380 km
