Let the two trains meet at a point `x' m and `y' m from the destination respectively and their velocities be $v_1$ and $v_2$ respectively.

$\frac{x}{v_1}=\frac{y}{v_2}$ (Since they start at the same time) -- (i)

$\frac{x}{v_2}=9$ -- (ii)

$\frac{y}{v_1}=16$ -- (iii)

Using (ii) and (iii) in (i)

$\frac{{9v}_2}{v_1}=\frac{16v_1}{v_2}$

$\frac{v_1}{v_2}=\frac{3}{4}$
