According to the principle of superposition of two waves,
ynet=y1+y2
At x=4.5 cm and t=5 ms=5×103 s

y1=(2 cm)sin[(2π×4.5)(100π×5×103)]
=(2 cm)sin[9π0.5 π]=2 cm
and
y2=(3 cm)sin[(π×4.5)(200π×5×103)]
=(3 cm)sin[4.5ππ]=3 cm
So, we have
ynet=y1+y2=23=1 cm

Hence, option (d) is the correct answer.
