Y=F/AΔl/l
Y=F/AΔlA/lA----(1)
Y=F/AΔlB/lB-----(2)
dividing (1) by (2)
1=lAΔlA×ΔlBlB------(3)
2=lAlB=ΔlAΔlB
ΔlA=2ΔlB
So, extension in A is twice and strain is same in A and B by (3) equation.
