Two workers produced 86 parts and the first one produced 8 more parts than the second one. How many parts did each worker produce?

Formulate the expression and simplify:

Let x be the parts produced by the second one.

Then, the parts produced by the first one is x+8.

Now, they both produced 86 parts.

Therefore,

x+x+8=86

2x+8=86

2x=78Subtracting8frombothsides

x=782Dividingbothsidesby2

x=39

Therefore,

the parts produced by the second worker are x=39.

the parts produced by the first worker are x+8=39+8=47

Hence, the parts produced by the first worker are 47 and parts produced by the second worker are 39.
