Question

Under what condition does the transistor act as an amplifier

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
A transistor acts as an amplifier if: (i) The operating point of a transistor is fixed somewhere in the middle of the active region. (ii) The input circuit is forward biased with low voltage and the output circuit is reverse biased with high voltage. (Because of this the resistance of input circuit is small and the resistance of output circuit is large.)
