Solution

The correct option is B

High altitude

Physical activity, pregnancy, or just being at high altitudes forces the body to take up more oxygen. At high altitudes, the air is said to be "thinner", that is, there are fewer molecules of oxygen in the air. Red blood cells (RBCs) are responsible for oxygen transport in our body. Thus, in order to match up the oxygen needs of the muscles and other parts of the body, the body produces more RBCs that can efficiently transport the available oxygen. Any infection or even blood cancer would result in an abnormal increase in the number of white blood cells (WBCs) and not RBCs. An enhanced iron intake does not have an effect on the RBC count.
