Centered unit cells
They are also called simple cubic unit cells.
They are either called face centered unit cells or body centered unit cells.
Eight atoms are present at eight corners of the unit cell.
In face centered unit cells, eight atoms are present at eight corners of the unit cell. In addition, six atoms are present at six face centers.
In body centered unit cells, eight atoms are present at eight corners of the unit cell. In addition, one atom is present at body center.
Total number of atoms present in one unit cell is 1.
Total number of atoms present in one face centered unit cell is 4. Total number of atoms present in one body centered unit cell is 2.
