Solution

Dear student,
All minerals can not be passively be absorbed by roots because mineral ions are charged particles which can not cross the membrane and the concentration of mineral ions in the soil is less than the concentration of mineral ions in the roots due to which passive movement is not possible it requires energy for movement.
