Baeyer's test
Baeyer's reagent is used in organic chemistry as a qualitative test for the presence of unsaturation, such as double and triple bonds. It is an alkaline solution of cold potassium permanganate which is a powerful oxidant making this a redox reaction. The reaction with double/triple bonds causes it to change colour from purplish-pink to brown.
