  3. These improved varieties of crops are subjected to a series of tests before coming into the market and their usage has increased to a greater extent in recent times because of the following reasons:
    1. High and better yield in terms of both quality and quantity.
    2. Resistance to diseases.
    3. Environmental tolerance.
  4. With the advancement and accessibility in technology, it has become easier to conduct experiments and develop genetically modified crops.
  5. As a result, the cost of these genetically modified crops has reduced from earlier, and now people can afford them.
