Solution

We can observe that the digit in the units place is 6.
If a number has 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8 in its units place, then the number is divisible by 2. So, the number 616 is divisible by 2.

The number formed by the digits in the tens and units places is 16, which is divisible by 4.
If the number formed by the digits in the tens and units places of a number is divisible by 4, then the number is divisible by 4. So, the number 616 is divisible by 4.

Starting from the right, the digits at odd places are 6 and 6.
Sum = 6 + 6 = 12
The digit at even place is 1.
Difference between the sums = 12 – 1 = 11
If the difference between the sums obtained by adding alternate digits of a number is 0 or divisible by 11, then the number is divisible by 11. So, the number 616 is divisible by 11.

Hence, the number 616 is divisible by 2, 4 and 11.
