Question

uses of transformers for long distance transmission of electric energy

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

When electric energy is transmitted through transmission wires then there is huge power loss experienced due to impedance of the wire. The loss is minimum if the low voltage.

By using step up transformer the generated power is step up to higher level and then transmit it. So that power loss is minimum. At the receiving station, by using step down transformers voltage is step down to usable voltage and send to our homes.
