Question

Using clay, a student made a right circular cone of height 48cm and base radius 12cm. Another student reshapes it in the form of a sphere. Find the radius(in cm) of the sphere.

Open in App
Solution

We have,
h=48 cm
r=12 cm

We know that the volume of the cone
=13πr2h

=13×π×(12)2×(48) cm3

Since, student reshapes it in the form of a sphere.

Let the radius of sphere be r.

So,
43πr3=13×π×(12)2×(48)

4×r3=(12)2×(48)

r3=(12)2×12

r3=(12)3

r=12 cm

Hence, this is the answer.
