Area of histogram and frequency polygon drawn for the same date are equal.

A frequency polygon is drawn by connecting mid points of the tops of rectangles. The line connecting two midpoints creates two equal-area triangles, one outside the frequency polygon and other inside the frequency polygon.

That's how the area of the histogram is equal to the area of frequency polygon.
