Using ruler and compasses only, construct a rhombus whose diagonals are 8 cm and 6 cm. Measure the length of its one side.
Steps :
1. Draw BD = 8 cm.
2. Draw perpendicular bisector PQ of BD.
3. Cut OA = OC = 3 cm
[half the diagonal 6 cm]
4. Join AB, AD, BC and CD.
5. Measure side AB which is 5 cm.
Thus ABCD is the required rhombus.
