$(10 + 0.2) \times (100 - 0.4)$
Step 2 : Simplifying the given expression.
$= 10 (100 - 0.4) + 0.2 (100 - 0.4) = 1000 - 4 + 20 - 0.08 = 996 + 20 - 0.08 = 1016 - 0.08 = 1015.92$
Hence the result is $1015.92$
